The Zinthiya trust provides one to one empowerment support to survivors of domestic abuse and those struggling with issues caused by historic abuse. We can help you create a life which you are safe, independent and empowered to make the choices that are right for you and your children. Our caseworkers are trained to listen, empathise and recognise the emotional impact it can have on you.
Domestic Abuse
Domestic abuse is when you are controlled, bullied or threatened by your partner or a family member, who wants to gain control over you.
Most people think of women with a black eye or bruises when they think of domestic abuse, but abuse can also be mental, emotional, psychological, sexual or financial.
It doesn’t happen to one kind of woman either – women of all classes, ages and backgrounds can suffer abuse.
The Zinthiya Trust is committed to ending domestic abuse in all its forms, which include:

Has your partner ever…
Insulted you, put you down in front of others, or embarrassed you?
Constantly check what you do or wear?
Stopped you seeing friends and family?
Looked at you or acted in ways that scares you?
Accused you of flirting or having an affair?
Pushed you, slapped you, choked you or hits you?
Taken your money or refused to give you money to buy necessities?
Tell you that you’re a bad parent or threaten to take the children away?
Denied the abuse or told you it’s your own fault?
If you answered ‘yes’ to even one of these questions, you may be in an unhealthy or abusive relationship.
Domestic Abuse and Honour based Violence
We provide specialist one to one support to prevent domestic abuse andhonour based violence. We undertake teaching and courses about healthy relationships and how to recognise the warning signs.
Mentoring
We offer a mentoring programme supporting women at risk or experiencing/experienced domestic abuse, honour-based violence or FGM.
Women's Weekly Support Groups
Information Advice & Guidance Support
The Zinthiya Trust supports women in the community who want to know what their options are, and would like a non-judgmental listening ear.
We can talk to you over the telephone or in a one-to-one meeting in a safe location, such as our offices in Leicester.
We can also put women in contact with other services that can help them.
Emotional Support
The Zinthiya Trust provides emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and those struggling with issues caused by historic abuse.
Awareness & Talks
As 1 in 4 women are victims of domestic abuse in the UK, we need to raise awareness on domestic abuse and how to access help and support.
We are happy to come and give a talk to your club, organisation or church to help understand what domestic abuse is, how to recognise its signs and what to do to support victims.

Community Champions
The Zinthiya Trust offers community champion/mentor training for anyone that wants to make a difference in the community and learn about domestic abuse. Our champions make a big a difference to the organisation by supporting survivors safely and raising awareness about domestic abuse on a local and national level.
