We can help you create a life which you are safe, independent and empowered to make the choices that are right for you and your children. Our caseworkers are trained to listen, empathise and recognise the emotional impact it can have on you.

Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse is when you are controlled, bullied or threatened by your partner or a family member, who wants to gain control over you.

Most people think of women with a black eye or bruises when they think of domestic abuse, but abuse can also be mental, emotional, psychological, sexual or financial.

It doesn’t happen to one kind of woman either – women of all classes, ages and backgrounds can suffer abuse.
The Zinthiya Trust is committed to ending domestic abuse in all its forms, which include:
Sexual abuse
Family member abuse
Honour based violence (HBV)
Forced marriage

Insulted you, put you down in front of others, or embarrassed you?
Constantly check what you do or wear?
Stopped you seeing friends and family?
Looked at you or acted in ways that scares you?
Accused you of flirting or having an affair?
Pushed you, slapped you, choked you or hits you?
Taken your money or refused to give you money to buy necessities?

Denied the abuse or told you it’s your own fault?
